A Special Annual Award which will be named after Nick’s Grandfather. The Floyd Little Award will
be given to the company that has the largest year-over-year improvement as measured by our
comprehensive business analysis matrix which considers all factors that affect the quality of your
home builds and fundability of your Custom Home Building business. That award will be a plaque
for the wall in your office as well as one free year of membership.
We also are offering an elite group of Home Builders the chance to join our pledge to end the
housing affordability crisis. To be a member of that club all profits in excess of 10% must be
reinvested into this program to help us reach our goal of providing 5 million affordable homes
across America by December 31st 2035. There will be an annual award for the most certified
affordable homes built called the Jimmy Carter Award and special recognition at the end of the
program for the builder that builds the most affordable homes. To be an eligible build the home
must qualify according to HUD’s definition of affordable housing which means the total annual cost
of the home needs to be below 25% of the median household annual income for that municipality.
The builder that has the best combined score out of all 8 categories (some will be more
points than others) will be awarded the CHBA Builder of the Year award.
As explained in the Benchmarking section we will rank the top 50 this year and grow that to
a top 500 over the next few years.
There will also be an award for the Best Coach voted upon by the CHBA members.
With our Affordable Housing mission we will also do an award for Best Community Project.
