The builders must participate in this to be eligible for the annual awards. All work is completed by an outside CPA firm that specializes in benchmarking This will tell you how you are doing compared to the rest of the builders in total as well as at your volume and market segment (high end, mid level, affortable, multi-family). I guaranty you that you will find areas where you can improved your operation from looking at this report unless you are dead on the average in every area. Even then that will tell you that you are average and you can start picking areas to improve that will have the largest impact for growth. As a small or medium size builder will be able to see how you compare to the larger builders. Dumb people don't learn from their mistakes and keep repeating them. Level #5 Premium Conference Package 

There will be at least three – four in-person gatherings per year. In late June / early July, we will have our Summer Growth Conference, during which we will host the CHBA Annual Awards Celebration to

recognize those companies that had the best results in the prior year. At this event in 2025, we will

recognize the Top 50 Home Builders from 2024. In 2026, this will expand to Top 100, Top 250 in 2027

and Top 500 in 2028. We are picking this time of year to allow companies to get their prior-year

Books closed, get them to our Benchmarking agency, giving them time to tabulate the information

and then getting us past the early June Graduation season. This is also about when you should

start planning for next year.

Then in January, we will have an event somewhere warm where the focus will be on operations and hiring to make sure that you are ready to go.

In addition to these two events, we also plan to be at IBS in Las Vegas In February and Chicago Build

Expo in October. The coaches will be available for one- and two-hour blocks of time at these events with the first to sign up being the first to be served. If you are more than 10 minutes late, we will

take someone who is there on standby.

If you can’t make it to the Summer Growth Conference, and January Operations sessions will be

recorded and available in a section of the member portal for members at this level.

Cost $20,000

This covers your attendance (no further charges for the events), handout materials, meals (breakfast, lunch, and some dinners). It does not cover your travel, lodging or afternoon entertainment/ sightseeing activities.

Everything in Level #3 plus access to the CHBA Group Buying Power Program.
With an anticipated membership of more than 20,000 custom home builders building over 200,000 homes per year, we will have the buying power of the top two home builders combined. Through group

buying power, we will achieve at least a 20% reduction on material costs, but that is just the start of

  1. This program also includes tools, rental equipment, insurance, cell phones, and internet access points; computers, printers and plotters, software, office furniture, office supplies, and employee benefits (see Level 6); accounting, legal, and recruiting services; realtors; mortgage brokers; title companies, etc. Virtually everything except your office rent.

If you and your subs are building just two $350K houses per year, this will amount to about $50K per year in savings.

We are so sure that you will save money on this program that if you don’t save at least $10K on your

first build we will give you back whatever amount you didn’t save and allow you to continue to use

the program for the balance of the year for free.

You will receive one free imprompt for a quality audit per year. 

The directions on how to pass it are included at level #2 so hopefully nobody ever fails a quality audit. However, if you should fail the first inspection, you have the option to be re-inspected for an additional $5,000. If you fail a second time, you will get one more shot at passing for an additional $5,000. If you fail three times you will no longer be eligible for the organization as we must limit membership to only those builders who are building quality homes.

Level #5

Level #5 gets everything in level #4 plus access to CHBA In-Person events.

There will be at least two in-person gatherings per year. In late June / early July, we will have a

Summer Growth Conference, during which we will host the CHBA Annual Awards Celebration to

recognize those companies that had the best results in the prior year. At this event in 2025, we will

recognize the Top 50 Home Builders from 2024. In 2026, this will expand to Top 100, Top 250 in 2027

and Top 500 in 2028. We are picking this time of year to allow companies to get their prior-year

Books closed, get them to our Benchmarking agency, giving them time to tabulate the information

and then getting us past the early June Graduation season. This is also about when you should

start planning for next year.

Then in January we will have an event some place warm where the focus will be on operations and

hiring to make sure that you are ready to go.

In addition to these two events, we also plan to be at IBS in Las Vegas In February and Chicago Build

Expo in October. The coaches will be available for one- and two-hour blocks of time at these events

with the first to sign up being the first to be served. If you are more than 10 minutes late, we will

take someone who is there on standby.

If you can’t make it tto he Summer Growth Conference, and January Operations sessions will be

recorded and available in a section of the member portal for members at this level.

Cost $20,000

This covers your attendance (no further charges for the events), hand out materials, meals

(breakfast, lunch and some dinners). It does not cover your travel, lodging or afternoon

entertainment / sightseeing activities.

Level #4

Everything in Level #3 plus access to the CHBA Collective Buying Power Program.
With an anticipated membership of more than 20,000 custom home builders building over 200,000 homes per year, we will have the buying power of the top two home builders combined. Through group

buying power, we will achieve at least a 20% reduction on material costs, but that is just the start of

This program also includes tools, rental equipment, insurance, cell phones, and internet access points; computers, printers and plotters, software, office furniture, office supplies, and employee benefits (see Level 6); accounting, legal, and recruiting services; realtors; mortgage brokers; title companies, etc. Virtually everything except your office rent.

If you and your subs are building just two $350K houses per year, this will amount to about $50K per year in savings.

We are so sure that you will save money on this program that if you don’t save at least $10K on your

first build we will give you back whatever amount you didn’t save and allow you to continue to use

– Levels 1 and 2 Plus

– Benchmarking – plus a copy of CHBA’s Annual Benchmarking report. When completed in June each year, you will receive a copy of CHBA’s custom home building industry-specific benchmarking report based on actual real-world data. We have some other resources that we will share right away, but CHBA’s first volume won’t be available until about mid-year. I do still encourage you to jump in at this level, though, so that your information can be part of that first volume. The larger the sample pool is, the more accurate our report will be. Participation at this level will require you to release your financial statements as well as other key information to our outsourced benchmarking agency. The information that you receive back is guaranteed to open your eyes to ways that even the best-run organizations can improve their operations.

  • We are so confident that being able to see your areas of improvement as well as the KPI’s and other
  • benchmarking metrics of your fellow builders, in aggregate not in detail, will increase your bottom
